Our Process
Each piece of furniture is inspected for damages before any project can start. We inspect for all foundational elements such as Dovetail Drawers, drawer slides, drawer reveal, hinges, cabinet magnets connections, leg stability etc.
01- Design
During the design process, we look at what the furniture will allow us to do. No furniture is built the same and not all “wood” is wood. In fact, in some cases, there could be thin veneer, plastic, or other like materials that limit what is possible with the furniture. Once we’ve established what can be done, colors, stains, hardware, and misc materials are noted for the work needed.
02- Prep
This is hands down the most critical part of the transformation process. In most cases, what products/material/techniques used will dictate the longevity and finish of the furniture. During prep, we will address any foundational damages, sand, prime, caulk, putty, epoxy, glue, screw, drill holes for hardware adjustments, etc.
03- Work
After all the prep is completed, refinished joy will start the transformation of your furniture. Painting, staining, poly protection, and hardware will all be applied from the design agreed upon.
04- Finish
The finishing touch is our favorite part of the process. It’s when we clean buff, wax and check all work that was performed in the previous steps. We take pride in the furniture we create and the final step is what keeps us coming back for more furniture to work on!
